Last year my best friend of 30 years and I took our bucket list trip across the Mediterranean. We visited Spain, Italy, France, Nice, and Monaco, and it was a trip of a lifetime. One of the things we have in common is our love of food. So exploring eateries throughout our journey made it very special.

“There is no sincerer love than the love of food” George Bernard Shaw
Here’s a few things about our food journey that made it so special.
- We were hungry all the time, and there was always food within reach, so we chucked the diets and let food consistently please us.
- Food brings people together, and we met wonderful people along the way. We shared stores with strangers and talked about our different dishes.
- They say variety is the spice of life, so we tried many different dishes. I love experiencing new cultures and variations of food that make life more abundant.
- We enjoyed chatting with the chefs about some of the dishes we had. I find the act of cooking is a creative endeavor and they seem to appreciate the interest.
- We forgave ourselves for overeating, and we promised each other we would not get on the scale for a month after returning from the trip.
So, when traveling enjoy the feasting. It’s a love that can really last and it will make your trip more rememerable.
And by the way, eating with your best friend is what counts.
Have your traveled with your best friend? I would love to hear about your experience.
